Andrea Teruel Diez is an environmental professional with more than 6 years of experience and a background in Biology. Also, she holds a Master's Degree in Environmental Management with GIS (Distinction) and Renewable Energy Certificates from Europe. She became interested in sustainability during 2015 and as a result, she is currently taking her second Master's Degree in Energy and Sustainable Building Design (online). This festival is a result of that passion. 
Colin Rioux (P.Eng.) is an energy professional focusing on sustainable energy solutions. Colin is one of the directors of the Alberta Solar Co-op and the principal of  Renewus Energy, consulting on sustainable energy development in Canada. Also, he is interested in exploring alternative investment opportunities that provide Albertans the ability to participate in green economic development within Alberta and their own communities. 


Tom Boag (P.Biol.) is a senior biologist and the owner of Applied Aquatic Research Ltd.; however, after establishing his first green roof on his own commercial building in 2007, he decided to open Native Roofs with the aim to create more natural, efficient and enjoyable cities by building native ecosystems on the roofs of commercial and residential buildings.
Dave Spencer (AALA, BCSLA): Landscape architect with over 35 years’ experience. He is a founding partner and designer of EchoHaven, a low impact and sustainable neighbourhood in Rocky Ridge, Calgary. Dave and his wife Debbie developed the design for a Net Zero home which became one of the 13 Canadian homes selected for the CMHC EQuilibrium demonstration program in 2009.  
Elan de Laforest (MBA, P.Biol.) is a sustainability professional creating environmental, business, and passive house solutions for rural, urban and international needs. Also, she is a member of the Passive House Alberta and the co-founder of SERI, a business blend of energy professionals and environmental biologists.  


Tyler Hermanson (LEED AP Homes, EA) is the owner of 4 Elements Integrated Design as well as a LEED professional with the goal to be primary, non-government source of information and advice on the design and construction of high performance homes in southern Alberta.

Josh Skiftun holds a master electrician certification and is a member of the Solar Energy Society of Alberta and a qualified Photovoltaic System Design and Modelling Technician. Also, he is the owner of Sol West Power and can assess your home for radon levels and perform the necessary mitigation measures.

Maria Paola Castillo graduated from the Yoga Studio College and she is currently teaching a Discovery Class at the Yoga Studio. Her classes focus on the foundational postures and incorporate restorative stretching to release tension while gaining strength, flexibility and overall balance.


Foteini Papavasileiou started her journey with yoga 8 years ago. That path helped her to re-evaluate her own life and find self-realization. Now, after she became a certified yoga instructor, she is trying to pass her learning experience and passion to her dear students. 

Amit Dhyani holds a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management with more than 10 years of international experience and is going to supervise food/beverage items and coordinate vendors during this event.
Raúl Teruel Diez is a professional Graphic & Web Designer, Photographer and Illustrator who has done several art exhibitions of photography and illustration in Spain.
Shawn Wiebe is a Project Manager Professional (PMP) and a gold medal winner (Slo-Pitch) who is currently working at Altatech Agencies Ltd. Shawn’s goal is to be a genuine resource for his clients and help them by productively contributing to their work. He does that by showing how our higher performing energy conscious products can meet or exceed expectations and by following through on promises.


Alba Lucia Clavijo has a degree in Preschool Teaching and more than 20 years of experience working with children. She moved from Bogota (Colombia) to Calgary ten years ago and she just had the blessing to open a new bilingual Spanish English Child Care called Little Worlds Learning Center. “Teachers live forever in the hearts they touch”.
Christine is a professional violinist and pianist and a registered music teacher at ARMTA who performs in public and private events. She is the violinist of the newly formed Mi.X Duo and has played as a backup musician for artists such as Canadian singer Michael Fitzgerald and astronaut Chris Hadfield. Pat Fedkenheuer is ALCLA's Sales & Marketing Manager and combines her business experience with expertise in the native plant area. You may have encountered her around the area working with school kids on school ground restoration, garden club presentations or one of the local farmers markets or other environmental situations.  
Al Fedkenheuer is a Professional Agrologist and co-founder of ALCLA Native Plants. Dr. Al has a background in soils, agriculture and forest ecology and started working with Alberta's native shrubs and trees in the early 1980s for use in land reclamation and revegetation.
